Mayko continued to develop her passion for acting at the University of British Columbia in the production Over the Moon and The Bacchae . While attending UBC Mayko started to study with Gemini award-winning actor Jeff Seymour, who cast her as an "Actor" in An Evening of Scenes he was directing. She continues to take Scene Study classes with Jeff in Toronto . Her list of film and television credits include, the PAX TV Sci-Fi Mysterious Ways , the Simon Fraser University film Sophisticated Boom Boom and Vancouver Film School's Great Expectation , and a role in the Lifetime series, Wild Card starring Joely Fischer. Mayko also landed the starring role in the Much Music movie Going the Distance . To maintain a balanced life, when Mayko is not performing she practices yoga, fitness, and Capoeira a Brazilian form of martial arts performed outside. A quick study, Mayko reprises her role as "Mayko Tran" the fiery bioinformatics researcher at NorBAC. Mayko's family remains in Vancouver , but she now calls Toronto home. |
